Juanita (Quintana) Martinez was born on November 27, 1932 in Las Animas, Colorado to Pete and Sara (Ramirez) Quintana. She passed away on March 18, 2013 at her home at the age of 80.
Juanita and her siblings grew up and attended school in Las Animas. On August 25, 1959 she was united in marriage to Moses "Buddy" Martinez and six children were born to their union. Juanita worked as a CNA at Ft. Lyon VA Hospital, retiring in 1996. After her retirement she was a Meals-On-Wheels volunteer at Sage Services.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Moses; son, Vincent Martinez; brother, Pete Quintana, Jr.; and sister, Vena Reynolds.
Juanita is survived by sisters, Christina Candelaria of Las Animas, CO, and Bessie Quintana of Wichita, KS; daughters, Anna Martinez of La Junta, CO, Kathy Martinez of Colorado Springs, Diana Gary and husband Michael of Colorado Springs; sons, Anthony Martinez and wife Felicia of Ordway, CO, Adolph Martinez and wife Robin of La Junta, CO, Joe Ben Martinez of La Junta, CO; 15 grandchildren, Linda Martinez, Samantha Martinez, Colette Arganbright and husband Bret of Yuma, AZ, Dana Martinez, Nicholas Baca, Matthew Martinez, Christopher Guiterrez, Mark Martinez, Nathan Martinez, Stefan Terrones, Benjamin Martinez, Gabrielle Martinez, Darius Gary, Izak Gary, and Michael Arguello; 8 great-grandchildren, Alissa Martinez, Khyla Martinez, Julian Martinez, Moses Martinez, Nicholas Baca Jr., Davian Martinez, Mia Denise Baca, Mathieu Arguello, as well as another one arriving soon; many other relatives and a host of friends.
