Gilbert Leroy Neugebauer was born March 7, 1933 in Holly, Colorado to Henry "Hank" and Neva (Bledsoe) Neugebauer. He passed away on October 16, 2013 at his home at the age of 80.
Gilbert was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Dickson on September 6, 1952 in Raton, New Mexico, a marriage that lasted 61 years. To this union they were blessed with two sons and a daughter. Gilbert worked construction, drove an automobile transport, then became shop foreman and diesel mechanic for Ryder Commercial Carriers for 22 years. In 1995 he retired. He enjoyed watching western shows and Fox News. Some of his favorite times were sitting outside with his dog, Sheba. He enjoyed the visits with their special neighbors, Elmer and Jacque Stalford and other relatives and friends.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean of the home; son, Larry Neugebauer and wife, Kim of Dumas, TX; daughter, Cathy Lacey of Woodland, WA; brothers, Merle Neugebauer and wife, Desiree of Holly, CO, Earl Neugebauer and wife, Maxine of Holly, CO, and Kenneth Neugebauer of Lamar, CO; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Smith of Bristol, CO and Betty Neugebauer of Wichita, KS; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Edna Mae Neugebauer; sister, Linda Parker; brother, Gale Neugebauer; and son, Donnie Ray Neugebauer.
