Mass of Christian burial for Felix Torres Jr. will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday August 2, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rosary/Scripture Service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. at Fort Lyon National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday August 1, 2013, at Horber Funeral Chapel.

Felix Torres Jr. was born to Felix and Maxine (Martinez) Torres on March 30, 1930 in Kim, CO. He went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2013 at the age of 83. Felix was a veteran, serving his country in both the US Army and the US Navy and eventually retiring from the National Guard. He worked for Fort Lyon Veteran's Hospital first as a CNA then later as Carpenter Foreman from which he retired after thirty years. He served on the Las Animas City Council, was a member of a local Mariachi, and was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign War, and the Knights of Columbus.

Felix is survived by his wife, Christella (Cortez) Torres and children, Patricia Torres, Carlos (Maureen) Torres, Julie Torres, Daniel Torres, Valerie (James) Pfingston, and Hope (Donald) Gonzales; grandchildren; Shantel (Brandon), Kayla (German), Matthew, Kristen, James Jr., Cameron and Victoria; three great-grandchildren; Savanna, Briahna, Harlen, and numerous brothers, sisters, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
