Fay F. (Orms) Bothwell was born May 15, 1922 in Coffeyville, KS to Harry and Nellie (Findley) Orms. She passed away May 1, 2013 at Southeast Colorado Long Term Care in Springfield, CO at the age of 90.
Fay's family moved to Protection, KS where she grew up. Fay met and married Chester Bothwell who was from Coy, OK. They then moved to a farm north of Holly, CO. Fay and Chester had two children, Grace and Jim. As years passed they lived in Kansas, Missouri, ending in Colorado where they remained. Chester passed away in August 1978. After her husband's passing Fay then moved to Lamar, CO where she lived and worked for several years. When Fay's health began to fade she moved to Springfield to live with her daughter, Grace and later to Southeast Colorado Long Term Care Center.
Fay was a character and kept the Long Term Care Center on their toes. She worked in many caf├ęs over the years. She was a great mom and grandma. Fay's children would sometimes say she raised them with an iron hand. She liked to garden and loved animals. She has had quite a herd over the years: dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, and even a fainting goat. Jim lived with Fay until his passing in 1999. She left her family with so many memories. They are so lucky to have had her all of this time.
Fay is survived by her daughter, Grace Mullins of Springfield, CO; sister, Alice Riley of Coffeyville, KS; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 43 great great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; many other relatives and all of her friends she has met at the Long Term Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester; son, Jim; four sisters; one brother; three grandsons, Rick, John, and Rusty; two great grandchildren, Jill and Derrit.
Fay's family would like to thank the wonderful staff that cared for her during her time at Southeast Colorado Long Term Care in Springfield.
